About Angela Slade
Founder & Director, The Sacred School of Remembrance™
Angela Slade, MA, RCC, is a psychotherapist, educator, and founder of The Sacred School of Remembrance™ — a lineage-rooted, body-led Univer-City for women engaged in embodied healing, ethical leadership, and lived remembrance.
With over two decades of clinical and educational experience, Angela’s work sits at the intersection of somatic psychology, trauma-informed care, posthumanist ethics, intuitive intelligence, and relational leadership. She is known for her grounded, non-performative approach to embodiment and her commitment to ethical, nervous-system-informed practice.
Angela serves as the School’s founder and steward, holding responsibility for its philosophical coherence, ethical integrity, and long-term lineage development.
CLINICAL & ACADEMIC FOUNDATIONS
Angela holds a Master’s degree and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). Her clinical background includes extensive work with nervous system regulation, attachment repair, identity transition, trauma recovery, and relational dynamics across the lifespan.
In 2012, Angela completed graduate research at the University of Victoria exploring posthumanist ethics in therapeutic and relational practice. Her thesis challenged traditional, rule-based and humanist models of ethics, proposing instead an embodied, relational, and context-responsive approach to ethical responsibility.
This academic foundation continues to inform the School’s emphasis on:
-
ethics as lived practice
-
responsibility as relational
-
identity as emergent rather than fixed
-
leadership as embodied rather than positional
THE BECOMING BODY™ FRAMEWORK
Angela is the creator of The Becoming Body™ Framework, a multidimensional model for healing, sovereignty, and embodied leadership.
The framework understands the body as:
-
intelligent and self-organizing
-
shaped by personal history, lineage, culture, and environment
-
central to ethical decision-making and relational capacity
Rather than prioritizing symptom reduction or cognitive insight alone, The Becoming Body™ Framework supports individuals to develop somatic literacy, emotional capacity, relational integrity, and embodied sovereignty.
This framework forms the foundation of all practitioner pathways and learning environments within The Sacred School of Remembrance™.
WHY THE SCHOOL EXISTS
Through years of clinical practice, teaching, and mentorship, Angela observed a recurring gap:
Many women had completed significant healing work, yet lacked a mature, ethical, and embodied space to deepen — particularly one that did not rely on urgency, bypass, or performance.
The Sacred School of Remembrance™ was created to meet this need.
The School is designed as a long-term educational ecosystem, not a short-term program. It emphasizes nervous system ethics, relational accountability, and gradual development across seasons of life and leadership.
STEWARDSHIP & LINEAGE
Angela understands her role not as a singular authority, but as a steward within a living lineage.
She works collaboratively with faculty, mentors, and future educators to ensure that the School remains:
-
ethically grounded
-
trauma-informed
-
neurodivergent-affirming
-
relationally accountable
-
capable of being carried forward beyond any one individual
The School’s purpose is not brand-building, but transmission — of practices, ethics, and ways of being that support sustainable leadership and collective well-being.
CURRENT WORK
Angela continues to teach, write, and mentor within the School, supporting the development of practitioners, leaders, and future faculty.
Her work is guided by a commitment to integrity, depth, and the quiet intelligence of the body.
AN INVITATION
Those drawn to The Sacred School of Remembrance™ are not asked to adopt a new identity.
They are invited into a process of remembering — one that unfolds through the body, relationship, and time.
